2 tablespoons butter
2 onions, chopped
2 apples, preferably Granny Smith, chopped
1 (14-ounce) package kielbasa, sliced
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon paprika
garlic salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
thyme, to taste
sage, to taste
parsley, optional, to taste, for garnish
rice, cooked, optional, for serving
Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add the onions and apples and sauté until slightly caramelized, for about 5-10 minutes.
Add the kielbasa, brown sugar, cinnamon, paprika, garlic salt, pepper, thyme, and sage.
Cover, reduce the heat to low, and cook until heated through and the brown syrup has melted into a glaze-like consistency, about 10 minutes.
Garnish with parsley and serve over rice!
